Oasis

About us

Oasis is here to be the church

- To worship God, bless people and make disciples.
- We encourage everyone to get involved and become an active and effective part of God’s kingdom.
- We want to see the lost saved, encourage and equip one another and serve God in love.

God is the head of Oasis

- All together we surrender to the Lordship of God (Father, Son, Spirit) and worship Him alone.
- All who serve here are humbly seeking His guidance.
- Collectively we make a covenant to love, trust and obey Him.

Oasis is a Christian family and you are welcome here

- We offer grace and mercy because we freely receive it.
- If you are part of this family you are expected to contribute, encourage others and speak positively.
- We are focused on obeying Jesus as He commands us to love one another:
‘By this all men will know you are my disciples, if you love one another.’ (John 13:35)

Oasis needs to reach out

- We are here to show/tell people a better story. We share the good news of Jesus Christ.
- We want to reach out and meet the needs of people where they are.
- We do what we can, with what we have… to make a difference.

FAQ

Q: What is Oasis?
A: Oasis emerged from a house church and was planted in Penryn on 17th June 2007.

Q: Who leads Oasis?
A: Oasis was planted by Chris Parker, the Pastor, with the help of his famliy [Dad, Mum and 5 brothers]. As the church has grown, Charles Fox and Roger Parrott have commited to serving and leading alongside Chris.

Q: Will I be welcome at Oasis?
A: Yes you are welcome! We do our best to meet and talk to all visitors. It doesn’t matter if you attend another church, havn;t been for a while or don’t ever to church, we meet to worship God and you are welcome to join us every Sunday evening.

Q: What does it cost?
A: To visit; nothing. To those who are committed we ask you to share what you have; time, talents, spiritual gifts, finance and other contributions to edify and support the church and reach out to bless others.

Q: How can I join Oasis?
A: Oasis is a family and not a club. If you want to become part of Oasis please come along and speak to one of the leaders about how you can get involved.

Q: Do I have to get involved?
A: As a newcomer we recognise the need to settle so there is no expectation for you to dive straight in. However, we firmly believe that the bible teaches all of us to be the body [an active part of God's church] so we will talk with you, provide oportunities and encourage you to share in the church if you setlle here.

Q: Why should I come?
A: Because God loves you! While we were living for ourselves and outside God’s perfect will (in sin), he chose to give us Jesus to die on a cross and pay the penalty for all sin, justifying our separation from God. Then Jesus, being dead and buried, rose from the tomb on the 3rd day to bring us new life. If we confess that Jesus is Lord with our mouths and believe in our hearts we are saved from our sin and given eternal life. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. You are loved by Jesus and you can find faith, hope and love in Him. You are not too far away or too bad to come to church, or to look for God, or to pray. Jesus has done it all; it has cost Him everything so that it would cost you nothing to receive grace. Come and find out more about Jesus, we will do our best to make you feel welcome and encourage you.
